Lea Pfandler is an award-winning international filmmaker. Being Swiss by passport, but grown up all over the globe, she considers herself a citizen of the world speaking multiple languages. She started writing stories and scripts, and creating and drawing comics at the age of six. Lea's love for the art of filmmaking started early, which lead her to write her first feature script at the age of 13. She studied film studies at the University of Zurich. Lea’s first short film and directorial debut 'A Cycle’ has been awarded with Best International Short Film, Best LGBT Film and Audience Choice Award by BANGKOK Indie Film Collective International Film Festival and won the Audience Choice Award at Boulevard Film Festival NYC. Lea loved the experience of being a DP and editor on her most recent film 'Fork in the Road', which she wrote and directed. She has produced short films such as "A Cycle", "Old Habits Die Hard", selected under thousands of submissions by Imagine This Women's International Film Festival in NYC, "Fork In The Road", "How I Met Emily", as well as the web series "Queen's Luxury Oasis". She is a proud member of NYC Women Filmmakers and participated in the inaugural all female film challenge ‘Women’s Weekend Film Challenge’. She will be directing and editing her upcoming romantic period drama "How I Met Emily".

Facing the denial of her girlfriend's denial, Lorena finds herself at a crossroads where she is forced to make a decision that will change her life.
This short drama is about denial, acceptance, and staying true to who you are.
The film is completed and currently well in post production.
How I Met Emily
'How I Met Emily', a short romantic drama, follows a young man who meets a mysterious woman in the NYC subway. A distant memory and vision from the past overcome him when he coincidentally encounters the woman in a cemetery to find out they have already met centuries ago.
This short film is half period drama / half contemporary and is dedicated to Lea's husband, Pavel and to everyone in love and wanting to be.
She will be directing the original short film this coming spring 2018.
